The English national football team, The Three Lions, have a notable place in the history of football, being from Britain, where the game was invented in many aspects. The England Football team were involved in the very first matches ever between countries.

History of the Three Lions

England's national football team and Scotland's national football team were formed at the same time, in 1870, when they played their first match against each other. The first game between the nations was played on the 5th March 1870, in The Oval in London. The match ended with a draw, 1-1.

Before the rest of the world adopted football, England and the rest of the British nations contested in the annual British Home Championship. England won the tournament for the first time in 1888, after being runners-up to Scotland in the first four editions.

The British Home Championship was in existence for over a hundred years, and England became the most successful team to compete, with 54 wins.

England's football team were successful in the tournaments played in the Olympic at the beginning of the 20th century. When football was included for the first time at the 1900 London Summer Olympics, the national teams of the country represented themselves as Great Britain. They won thr tournament against the only other two partaking nations, France and Belgium.

After their absence in the 1904 Summer Olympics, Great Britain won the gold medal again in the 1908 Summer Olympics. Their domination in the Olympic football tournaments continued up until 1920 when Norway defeated the British team.

The British national team returned to the Olympics in 1936, after a two year absence due to a dispute between FA and FIFA. In the second round of games in the 1936 Olympics, Great Britain were eliminated by Poland.

After the invention of the World Cup, the Olympic football tournament was no longer the leading settlement of which the best national teams would compete.

Why are they called the Three Lions?

England's national team are nicknamed the Three lions due to the Three Lions badge on the shirts worn by England's players. The badge is to show that they represent the Football association, whose logo is also the Three Lions crest.

Since their first international fixture against Scotland in 1872, England's team have worn the Football associations Three lions logo. The reason why both the Football association and England's team were the Three Lions Badge goes back to the 12th century battlefield.

Standards with three golden lions on a red background carried into the battleground to inspire the army at war. The logo was adopted by the football association during formation in 1863.

The three lions was used as the "coat of arms of England", dating as far back as the 12th century, whose arms are described as “Gules, three lions passant guardant Or”. It is seen in more recent history the design came from Henry I, whose standard had a lion, becoming two when he married the daughter of a man who had a lion on his shield.

The design became three when Henry II married the daughter of a man who adopted the lions design.

The Three Lions design was changed in 1949 to a new version, taking the crown that sat on top of the lions away, so they didn't resemble England's cricket team.

In May 2021, the football association changed the original three lions badge for their grassroots programme, it was replaced with a lion, lioness and a cub.

What is the Three Lions Anthem?

England fans can be heard chanting the words to Three Lions (Football's Coming Home) whenever their is an English game, most prominently at Wembley Stadium.

"It's coming home" or "Footballs coming home" is a song by comedians David Baddiel, Frank Skinner and the rock band Lightning seeds, the song was released ahead of the 1996 UEFA European Championships hosted by England.

"Footballs coming home" known as the Three Lions anthem, is in reference to football returning to the home of its birth, with Euro 96 being the first major tournament held in England since the 1966 World Cup.

From the perspective of football fans, the song expresses the disapointment and hope of being english fans, where the many oh-so-nears wear them down, with no hope of football coming home.

The music was written by Ian Broudie, the singer of the Lightning seeds, with presenters of the football comedy show Fantasy Football League, Baddiel and Skinner providing the lions lyrics.

The song often reappears in the UK music charts when Englands football team have any major tournaments. It is the official song of English football, and has been since 1996, the chorus is the most popular chant for fans watching England play football.

What do the lyrics mean?

The lyrics of the chorus "its coming home" were a reflection of the fact England were hosting their first game since 1966, but has since evolved to include the concept of the cup returning to its home turf. The football song makes reference to several England players; Bobby Moore, Nobby Stiles, Bobby Charlton and Gordon Banks, who played in the 1966 World Cup

Among the references in the song are the following:

 • "That tackle by Moore": Bobby Moore's tackle of Jairzinho in a group match against Brazil at the 1970 FIFA World Cup.

Bobby Moore tackling Jairzinho

 • "When Lineker scored": Gary Lineker's goal against West Germany in a semifinal at the 1990 FIFA World Cup.

Garry Lineker celebrating

 • "Bobby belting the ball": Bobby Charlton's goal against Mexico in a group match at the 1966 FIFA World Cup.

picture of Bobby Charlton

 • "Nobby dancing": Nobby Stiles dancing with the Jules Rimet Trophy after England won the 1966 FIFA World Cup.

Picture of Nobey Stiles

Unlike other, more optimistic, football songs, the lions lyrics speak of the bad news from the point of view of a football fan and since the 1966 FIFA World Cup, how every tournament played, England lost. Despite these years of hurt, football fans have not lost hope that the england team will win again ("Three lions on a shirt / Jules Rimet still gleaming / Thirty years of hurt / never stopped me dreaming")

David Baddiel said the song was "really about magical thinking. About assuming we are going to lose, reasonably, based on experience, but hoping that somehow we won’t." Despite the failures of past England games, each match is met with fresh ambition that football's coming home.

How long is the World Cup 2022?

The schedule for the FIFA world cup Qatar is only 28 days long, the shortest in 44 years. The final being on a Sunday, as per tradition, on December 18th 2022.

Why is the 2022 World Cup in November?

When Qatar was announced to host the 2022 World Cup back in 2010, it was scheduled on the basis of the matches being staged in June and July, much like every previous tournament.

However, there was concern over the summer temperatures to host the World Cup in Qatar, which average at 41.2 degrees Celsius (106.2 Fahrenheit).

The summer heat prompted FIFA to consider moving the dates for the World cup 2022 to the winter months.

At the start of the year we can also see the winter Olympics taking place in February, Ramadan in April, and as mentioned the extreme heat in Qatar over May to September, it only made sense for the games to be moved to the end of the year.

When will the World cup schedule be finalised?

National teams will continue to play qualifiers right up until Spring 2022. Once each qualifying group has been determined, the World Cup draw will take place, this is expected around April 2022.

The draw determines who will play each other in the group stage out of the eight groups of four teams.

With the top two teams from each group continuing on to the knockout stage, culminating with the World Cup final at Lusail stadium on December 18th.

The times and stadiums of each match will be confirmed and filled in after this draw, this finalisation will allow fans to choose optimal kick-off times to suit television audiences in different time zones, as well as to help supporters, players and the media in Qatar get themselves ready for the tournament.

How many matches are in the World Cup Qatar 2022?

The 2022 World Cup will feature 32 teams in eight groups of four.

There are a total of 64 matches in the tournament, played over the 28 day period for this World Cup.

Four group games will be played each day during the group stage matches running over a 12 day period, coming to a total of 48 matches in this point of the tournament. In the final knockout round there are 16 matches.

What are the kick off times?

FIFA confirmed that the first two rounds of matches will kick off at 1pm, 4pm, 7pm and 10pm, Qatar local time.

In the final round of group games and knockout matches, kick off times will be at 6pm and 10pm local time.

With Qatar being three hours ahead of the UK, the kick-off times for UK watchers are:

 • Group stage: 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm.
 • Final round of Group games and knock-out matches: 3 pm and 7 pm.
 • Final: 3 pm.

Where will the World Cup take place?

The World Cup 2022 will take place across eight stadiums in and around Doha.

Each venue is within 46 miles of each other, making the 2022 World Cup and amazing opportunity for fans to take in more games than ever.

//news/2022/02/10/world-cup-football Fri, 11 Feb 2022 09:06:23 +0100 <![CDATA[World Cup Football]]> The FIFA Men’s World Cup is the most prestigious tournament held in the world. It has brought football fans from around the world together since the first tournament in 1930 to watch the teams compete against each other for the prize.

The World Cup, organised by the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), is a quadrennial tournament that determines football's world champion.

World Cup History

Before the FIFA world cup was established, the football tournament within the Summer Olympics was most prestige. However, when the game started to transition out of Olympic spirit FIFA made plans to organise a World Cup.

The championship has been awarded every four years since the first official tournament in 1930, except in 1942 and 1946 when it was not held due to World War II.

The current world cup winners are France, who won for the second time at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. The World Cup consists of international tournaments, which lead to a final elimination made up of 32 national teams.

1930's World Cup

The first game in World Cup History was played in Uruguay, 1930.

The host country Uruguay was favourite to win, having won both Paris Olympics in 1924 and Amsterdam Olympics in 1928. Their oldest rival, Argentina, had also won the Championships in South America in 1929, this rivalry was expressed in the audience with the majority of guests booing the opposing team.

All the matches were played in stadiums in the capital Montevideo, with the final being played at Estadio Centenario.

Yugoslavia and the USA surprised many viewers by winning their group and progressing onto the semi finals. Uruguay would then go onto beat Yugoslavia, after beating Romania and Peru in their match.

In the final Uruguay faced Argentina and they pulled off another victory with four goals against two after Argentina had the lead.

The football players of Uruguay renewed their status as the pride of the nation.

Since then, 21 World Cup tournaments have been held and won by eight teams. Brazil winning five times, and are the only team to have played a game in every tournament.

Other World Cup winners are Germany and Italy, who have four titles each. Argentina, France, and Uruguay, have two titles each. England and Spain, with one win each.

What is the Selection process?

Qualification Phase

The current format involves a qualification phase, that has been in place since the second World Cup in 1934. The qualification phase can start as early as over three years prior to the next World cup, this is to determine which teams qualify for the tournament phase.

In the tournament phase, the 32 qualified teams compete for the title at venues within the host nation over about a month, this includes the host nation who automatically qualifies.

Host Nation

The host nation is chosen in a vote by FIFA's council, and done so under an exclusive ballot system. The football association of the country who desires to host the event receives a "Hosting Agreement" from FIFA, with the steps and requirements expected to make a strong bid.

The decision on the hosts of the next World Cup is usually made up to seven years in advance of the tournament.

World Cup Qatar 2022

The 2022 World cup will be the first time the finals have a Muslim host country, and there will also be a change of schedule.

The games will be held across eight stadiums in five cities at the 2022 World Cup, all within 46 miles of each other, meaning no internal flights for the fans, media and players. Organisers of the Qatar 2022 World cup have been creative in the range of accommodation they are offering during this time.

Al-Nuaimi added: "The Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 will bring with it the biggest influx of sports fans the region has ever seen - introducing them to Arab culture and traditions. It's an unprecedented opportunity to project a true image of the Arab world as a welcoming, peaceful, and hospitable region."

What teams are in World Cup 2022?

Before the expansion to 48 nations for the 2026 World Cup, the Qatari World cup represents the final tournament with 32 teams.

Including the hosts Qatar, we already know 15 of the competing teams at the 2022 World Cup, and the remaining 17 spots are going to fill up quickly over the coming months

Those who have currently qualified are:

 1. Qatar
 2. Germany
 3. Denmark
 4. Brazil
 5. France
 6. Belgium
 7. Croatia
 8. Spain
 9. Serbia
 10. England
 11. Switzerland
 12. Netherlands
 13. Argentina
 14. Iran
 15. South Korea

When is the draw?

The English football team, the Three Lions qualified and have booked their place in the World Cup tournament already. With Wales and Scotland still in the play-offs to determine whether they qualify to play in the tournament. Northern Ireland failed to qualify.

If Wales and Scotland qualify for the World Cup, the three Home teams, as well as all remaining qualifiers will find out the group stage draw in April 2022

When do tickets go on sale?

The first ticket sales of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 began with a random selection draw period on 19 January 2022.

Ticket prices for residents planning to attend the World cup started at 40 Qatari riyals (£8), the cheapest for locals since the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.

For international supporters, ticket prices started at 250 riyals (£50), one-third less than the tickets for Russia's World Cup 2018. The cheapest seats on general sale internationally to watch the hosts open the World Cup on November 21 cost 1,100 riyals (£223).

A ticket for the December 18 final at Lusail Stadium costs 5,850 riyals (£1,187), up 46 percent from the 2018 final.Fans who are applying up until February 8th will then go into a draw with those who are successful to be notified by March 8th.

How many fans are expected and where can I stay?

Organisers of the World Cup estimate that there will be about 1.5 million fans attending the tournament. However, there are only 175,000 rooms for tourists in the country.

This total is made up of traditional hotels, serviced apartments and villas, managed by 10,000 memebers of staff.

In 2019, the hosts, Qatar, signed a deal with a cruise company to lease two luxury liners, or 'Floating Hotels', to be docked in Doha port during the tournament. This provides a further 4,000 cabins for visitors.

Those who wish to make the most of Qatar's hot weather, can stay in one of the two tented villages being built in the desert. There is also the option to stay in Qatars neighbour, the United Arab Emirates, and catch the 70 minute flight from Dubai to Doha for the games.

Will drink be allowed at the FIFA world cup?

The consumption of alcohol is not part of the local culture in Qatar, as it is prohibited in Islam.

However, alcohol will be served in select areas in each stadium. Those who wish to enjoy a drink outwith the stadium, can find bars at some of the higher-end hotels in Qatar.

Visitors are asked to respect the country's traditions, by not drinking in general public spaces. The UK governments guidance states that it is an offence to publicly drink and be drunk in public in Qatar. If you are caught drinking or drunk in a public space, you could end up with a fine or a prison sentence of up to six months.

What is the dress code in Qatar?

Qatar is an extremely diverse country.

People from many different countries work and live in Qatar, locals are dressed in traditional thobes and abayas.

Tourists have been informed they are free to embrace their clothing, as long as it respects Qatari culture, and is modest.

Tourists are expected to wear more conservative clothing in in places such as government buildings, national museums and Doha's Souq Waqif marketplace. If they are wearing less formal attire, such as beach wear, at these places, it is likely they will be asked to cover up.

There are only a handful of months before another men's FIFA World Cup. The 2022 World Cup will be the first tournament hosted in the Middle East, being held in Qatar, and the first to be held at the end of the year in November and December.

//news/2022/02/10/world-cup-qualification Fri, 11 Feb 2022 09:07:32 +0100 <![CDATA[World Cup Qualification]]> The official countdown clock is on for the FIFA World cup Qatar with less than nine months away, however there are still plenty decisions to be made before the tournament kicks off in November.

Fifteen teams have secured their spot in the 2022 FIFA world cup, which means their are still 17 spaces up for grabs, and it seems some notable nations have struggling teams finishing the qualifying stage. All 211 FIFA member associations are eligible to enter the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on a qualifying basis

Qualification Process

As Qatar is the host country, they qualify automatically for the tournament. However, Qatar is obliged by the AFC to take part in the Asian qualifying stage since the first two rounds are prerequisites for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. If Qatar finish as winners or as runners up in their group, then the fifth best group runners up will advance in their place.

The slot allocations for each confederation was discussed in May 2015 by the FIFA Executive Committee in Zürich. The committee decided to stay with the same allocation that had been used in 2006, 2010 and 2014 for both the 2018 world cup and the 2022 world cup.

The allocation:

 • AFC (Asia): 4 or 5
 • CAF (Africa): 5
 • CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean): 3 or 4
 • CONMEBOL (South America): 4 or 5
 • UEFA (Europe): 13
 • OFC (Oceania): 0 or 1
 • Hosts: 1

When did the qualification start?

The qualification play offs for the 2022 FIFA world cup began on June 6 2019, this was when nations from the Asian Confederation played their first round of matches. Mongolia and Brunei played in the opening match.

To make sure the rest of the qualified teams can be chosen before this summer, the FIFA council created an international window in the winter months between January into February.

European clubs had their qualification up to date before this international window, whereas this time was crucial for those in Asia, CONMEBOL and the CONCACAF region, featuring sides from North/South america and the Caribbean.

How is the qualification process panning out?

South America (CONMEBOL)

In the recent qualification competitions for the 2022 world cup, all 10 South American nations play against each other. The top four group winners qualify directly to the final round in the host country. The fifth-place team will progress into an intercontinental playoff against a team from Asia.

The first four rounds of qualifying matches in March and September 2020 were postponed, finally being played in October 2020. Another round of matches in March 2021 were put on hold due to issues with European players travelling amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Brazil was the first country to qualify in November 2021, and Argentina qualified a few days after.

//news/2022/06/13/football-betting-world-cup-2022-important-things-to-consider Wed, 13 Jul 2022 08:25:50 +0200 <![CDATA[Football Betting World Cup 2022: This is Something to Consider When Submitting Bets]]> The exciting Football World Cup (FIFA 2022) is coming up this year (2022). The sport is accompanied by varied football bets you can make during the World Cup. The games will take place at the end of 2022 in Qatar. But bets can already be made on the expected 2022 World Champion.

This is the first time FIFA will be played in winter, not in summer. The World Cup will start on November 21 and will be completed on December 18, 2022. The odds are impressive, and whoever bets on the ultimate world champion can make lucrative profits. According to bookmakers, the multiple world champion Brazil is particularly popular for the expected world championship.

Paid bets are worthwhile because you can win real money with the right bet. If you want, you can also just give a free tip on who will become the world champion.

Place long-term bets on the FIFA 2022 World Champion

Right now, long before the Football World Cup, football bets can be placed on the 2022 World Champion. The betting odds are relatively high at this time; thus, it is worth betting on the winner of the World Cup. If a bet is won, you can achieve high real money winnings.

Who will be World Champion 2022 in Qatar?

The World Cup is about choosing the new Football World Champion in 2022. Which country is capable of becoming a world champion? Can France defend its title? So far, only Brazil (1962 and 1958) and Italy (1938 and 1934) have been able to defend their titles.

Brazil, England, Germany, Spain and Argentina are the top favourites this year for the World Cup titles. Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy and Croatia can also get involved in the fight for the World Championship. Fortunately, the Football World Cup in Qatar will not take place in the tropical summer but in the winter at moderate temperatures. In doing so, FIFA considered the interests of the players in particular.

The best bookmakers for Football World Cup 2022

With the best betting providers, you have the choice between World Cup participants with high odds. All you have to do is bet on the right winner of the World Cup. The bet offers exciting entertainment at the games of the World Cup. Recommended bookmakers offer fair odds, and there is a huge selection of bookmakers.

Interestingly, the odds are quite different. Many bookies have a particularly wide and extensive betting offer. So, take the opportunity and bet on the winner of all match encounters. If you are a newcomer to betting, you can even count on a new customer bonus that really pays off.

World Cup in Qatar – Who is there?

A total of 32 teams will participate in the final round of the 2022 World Cup. Qatar is automatically qualifying because it is the host. The distribution of starting places is as follows:

 • Africa: 5
 • Asia: 4.5
 • Europe: 13
 • North, Central America and the Caribbean: 3.5
 • Oceania: 0.5
 • South America: 4.5
 • Hosts Qatar: 1

Half places are additional teams via intercontinental deciding games.

The already confirmed finalists are Iran, Qatar, South Korea, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, England, France, Croatia, Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia and Spain.

Football Betting World Cup – Venues

The venues have been reduced to eight stadiums as Qatar is a relatively small country. The World Cup matches will be played in the following stadiums:

 • Al-Chaur at the al-Bayt Stadium
 • Ar-Rayyan at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, Education City Stadium and Khalifa International Stadium
 • Al-Wakra at the al-Janoub Stadium
 • Doha at Stadium 974 and al-Thumama Stadium
 • Lusail at Lusail Iconic Stadium

Football Betting World Cup – Broadcasting Rights

The broadcasting rights of the 2022 World Cup for all qualifying matches of the German team have been acquired by the private broadcaster RTL. In addition, selected games without German participation will be broadcasted on Nitro and shown on the streaming service DAZN.

Conversely, the final round can be shown on free TV via the public broadcasters das Erste and via ZDF. Deutsche Telekom also secured the broadcasting rights for the MagentaTV program. In Switzerland, the SRG-SSR broadcasters SRF, RSI, RTS and RTR accompany the qualifying matches of the senior national team. Football World Cup matches are shown exclusively on television, radio, and multimedia.

The broadcasting rights go to SRG SSR from FIFA. In Austria, on the other hand, all 64 World Cup matches are broadcast by ORF. This station owns all live rights to radio broadcasts, live streaming and video-on-demand.

Countless betting opportunities at the 2022 World Cup

You can bet not only on the winner of the 2022 World Cup but also on the top scorer and on a variety of other World Cup events.

Players are confronted with completely new conditions during the World Cup. Betting on a World Cup comes with a variety of challenges. So, players play with new teammates and with fewer training sessions against teams that are not known at all, and that is difficult to assess. Game locations are different. Long journeys and climatic changes also take their toll.

Bettors can assess the two teams' current conditions and forces much better than the sports betting providers themselves. Thus, many World Cup odds do not reflect reality, and the outsider teams are rated too weakly. Under certain circumstances, you can get capital out of the situation and benefit from high odds.

Place Football bets early and win more

Join all the Football World Cup matches and bet on the World Cup winner with high odds. There are lucrative football bets, especially now, because experience has shown that odds decrease with the time before the World Cup event. Many bookmakers already offer corresponding bets on the World Cup. So, bet on your secret favourite for the 2022 World Cup sooner rather than later to benefit from the best odds.

Conclusion: Bet on the Football World Cup or bet for free?

More and more betting games have been established as an alternative to paid bets with a focus on winning money. In the prediction game, the focus is not on money but on the joint typing of the results or tendencies. So-called "fantasy games" are also currently very popular.

The system of fantasy games has been enormously popular in the USA for years, and the fever is increasingly spreading in Europe. Prediction games and fantasy games are exciting ways to replay sports events with friends and colleagues and experience them from a different perspective.

For the World Cup this year, it is recommended that you participate in a free betting game in addition to paid bets. This allows you to compare your betting behaviour on two fronts. You will always stay up-to-date and get insight into how your colleagues and family members assess certain games.

//news/2022/06/27/most-common-football-results-at-a-world-cup-and-other-statistics Wed, 13 Jul 2022 08:30:46 +0200 <![CDATA[Most Common Football Results at a World Cup & Statistics]]> In order to be successful in a Football World Cup prediction game for 2022, it is especially important to deal a little with statistics. Most believe that a narrow victory such as 2-1 or 1-0 is the most common football result. But is that even true? Or is this just a popular but false assumption?

In the following article, we look at the most common results with which a football match ends. We would first take a look at the World Cup. Then, we will take a closer look at the results of the European Championship, Bundesliga and Champions League.

Do you want to gain an advantage when betting? Then, read on and take a look at our football statistics on the respective tournaments and leagues.

Most common football result at a World Cup

The Football World Cup has been held every four years since 1930. The only exception was the Second World War when the tournament had to be paused in 1942 and 1946. This means that we can look back on a total of 21 tournaments and take a closer look at the results.

Across all World Championships, 1-0 is the most common result and 128 games ended with it. On ranks 2 and 3, follow the 2:1 and the 3:1, which appeared 101 and 80 times, respectively. These are the three most common results at a World Cup.

Of course, an important factor here is the knockout phase, in which a game cannot end in a draw. Therefore, this result is omitted after the group stage and is therefore underrepresented.

Average goals per match at a Football World Cup

Over the past 30 years, average goals per game have ranged from 2.2 to 3 goals. Going back to the past, you will also find much higher values. But with the increasing professionalization of football, these results are no longer really relevant because the exits are much closer together today than at the beginning of football.

The most common results at an EM

The second-largest tournament is the European Championship. It usually also takes place every four years, but only in European countries. The European Championship has been held since 1960, and we have access to the data of 16 tournaments. But what happened as the most common football result at a European Championship?

Also, at the European Championships, 1:0 is by far the most common result, just like at the World Cup. A total of 65 games ended with this result. A little behind is the narrow 2-1 victory with 58 games and the 2-0, which arrived 48 times. The first draw is only in 4th place when 42 times the game ended 1-1. That's why we generally advise you to bet on a narrow victory with a goal difference.

Of course, you have to keep in mind that after the group stage, the game can no longer end in a draw (as at the World Cup). In the past, there were also rules, such as the Golden Goal, with which Marco Bode won the European Championship for Germany in 1996. Today, however, there is only extra time and the penalty shoot-out. But in both cases, there is no longer a draw.

Most frequent football result in the Bundesliga

Since we can access a much larger pool of data in the Bundesliga, it is better to only look at the last ten years because these results have the most relevance if you want to give a tip today.

In 9 of the last ten seasons, 1-1 was the most common result. On average, around 35 games ended with this result per season. The only exception was in 2014/15 when the narrow 1-0 victory occurred a total of 32 times. If it does not come to a 1:1, then a 2:1 is the next best option, followed by 1:0. Especially home games often go out 2-0 when the favourite plays at home.

Therefore, it is not surprising that, on average, almost three goals are scored per game. If you take a closer look at the last season, 2020/2021, you will see that most of the goals are scored in the second half (56.25%). Many fell again in the last 15 minutes (21.8%), which is why the result changes again after the 75th minute in about 60% of all games.

The most frequent results in the Champions League

The Champions League has been around for almost 20 years, having replaced the 'European Cup of National Champions in 1992. Of course, the Champions League does not play as often as the Bundesliga, but the last 20 years are enough for us as a database.

Looking back on all 20 years, the 1:1 was also the most common football result. A total of 357 matches ended with this result. This is followed by narrow victories such as the 1-0, the 2-1 and the 2-0, which occurred 338, 294 and 280 times, respectively. Then comes the goalless 0-0 with 256 games. Thus, the results are relatively identical to those from the Bundesliga, although there is the famous away goal rule in the Champions League.

As in the Bundesliga, around three goals per game have been scored in the Champions League over the past ten years. If you look back, the teams were a bit more defensive. In the 2000s, there were only 2.5 goals per game on average. Of course, as spectators, we like it better today when significantly more goals are scored per game. Five of the six most goal-scoring seasons fall into the last six years alone.

The most common football result is a good start

Finally, the results can be classified into two categories. National tournaments such as the World Cup or the European Championship have as the most common football result a narrow victory with 1:0 or 2:1. This is probably due to the few group games that take place. Once these are over, the otherwise popular results, such as a 1:1 can no longer occur. This means that in the group stage, 1:1 is a good tip, but in the knockout phase, this is no longer possible.

The situation is somewhat different in the Bundesliga and the Champions League. Here the 1:1 occurs most often, followed by the narrow 2:1 or 1:0 victories. That's because more games can generally go out 1-1. Because overall, it is simply the result that occurs most often.

//news/2022/07/11/norbert-won-the-world-cup-league-from-90-000-people Wed, 13 Jul 2022 08:38:47 +0200 <![CDATA[Norbert Won the World Cup League from 90,000 people]]> As the Football World Cup 2018 ended, all the winners of the many World Cup leagues were also known. Norbert (30) was the very best in one of the biggest World Cup leagues in the Netherlands: he beat no less than 90,781 other forecasters. What is his secret? "I thought: I do 1-0 everywhere, then I don't spend that much time filling in."

Until the last moment, it was exciting whether Norbert would walk away with the win in the Scorito league. He was at the top for a long time, but the participants were close to each other. "I always looked at my competitors to see what their prediction was. You're really going to look at the World Cup differently."

Everywhere 1-0

His predicted 1-0 win over France was ultimately enough to win the league. And that while he was invited last minute to participate. "I thought: I do 1-0 everywhere, then I won't lose that much time."

But behind the 1-0 or 0-1, there is definitely a theory, he said. "I've thought about filling in other, bigger results like a 3-1, but that almost never happens." He had also used his results technique at other leagues. "I won that one, too," he said. "That's pretty funny. You can fill in a goal difference of 1-0 everywhere, and therefore you can win everything."

Tips

That is his most important tip for future leagues for the World Cup or European Championship. "I would fill in 1-0 everywhere. And don't gamble on crazy, unlikely results. You have to fill in everything right away and not look at what others are doing." In between, he did not change his predictions, as was possible just before the match in question.

He did not do that when he entered France as the winner. France had the best team. I thought they were unbeatable. They were so good. How did he gain his football knowledge? "Just watch a little football and talk about it a lot with my brother and dad," he said.

Tie

Despite his profit, there was still some profit to be made for Norbert, he said. "If you look back, for example, there is a relatively large draw in the knockout phase. So, you can alternate that 1-0 or 0-1 with a draw."

"There are also people who do 2-1 or 1-2 everywhere. And some people look at the results of betting offices. The prediction of where you can make the least money is what most people predict."

Honour

Norbert received an email from Scorito that he won, but there was no prize attached to it. "I think it's a pity that I don't win anything. I thought I had won a sum of money or a vacation or something. But the honour is nice."

However, he had won 250 euros in the subleague he has with friends. "I'm going on holiday."

These were the predictions at the Scorito World Cup league:

 • 49 people predicted it would be 4-2 in the final
 • 57 per cent let France advance to the final
 • 26 per cent let Croatia advance to the final
 • 75.95 per cent expected France to win the final against Croatia
 • The most predicted result (24.3 per cent) was 2-0
 • 20 per cent of all participants in the World Cup league predicted before the World Cup that France would win
 • 39.5 per cent predicted before the start of the World Cup that Brazil would walk away with the world title

//news/2022/07/25/how-long-does-half-time-in-football-last Wed, 13 Jul 2022 08:54:08 +0200 <![CDATA[How Long Does Half-time in Football Last?]]> How Long Does Half-time in Football Last?

For many, football is the most beautiful pastime in the world. The modern version is already almost 200 years old, and rules have often changed over time. Even football experts no longer know why some rules are the way they are today. That is why today we would like to clarify how long half-time lasts in football.

Read on, and we'll answer your questions about half-time, match duration, breaks, the extra time, and everything else you need to know about the entire playing time of a football match.

How long does half-time last in football?

The history of football goes back several hundred years, but half-time, as we know it today, has only existed since 1875. Today, half-time lasts 45 minutes, interrupted only by a 15-minute break. The 45-minute limit means players no longer have to constantly play throughout the game.

This makes it possible to better distribute the forces and play stronger over the entire duration of the game. That is why both players and spectators benefit from the two halves of a match. In addition, the second half is often more exciting than the first because the teams make tactical changes during the break in between.

While the half-time in football lasts 45 minutes for adults, this can differ for younger players. For example, the underage U16/U17 teams play 40 minutes per half, and the U14/U15 only 35 minutes. This goes down to the so-called Bambinis (U7), who play a maximum of 20 minutes per half-time.

How long does the half-time break in football last?

The break between half-times lasts 15 minutes. It allows the players to regain their strength and have a drink. Then, the coach can give the players instructions on how to play in the second half. Of course, the score after the first half plays an important role here.

The half-time break in football is also used for substitutions, especially in unusual situations and events. If a team is far behind, for example, the coach can go on the offensive in order to catch up. If a player is injured or feels unwell, the coach can have him treated immediately or substitute him.

Moreover, the coach and the team also use the break for additional motivation. In football, it often happens that a team is unrecognisable after the break. Then the coach probably gives a special speech to spur his players on. That's why what happens at half-time is almost as important as the actual game on the pitch.

How long does a football match last?

The regular playing time of an adult football match is 90 minutes. This consists of two halves of 45 minutes each. The break in between is not part of the playing time and is, therefore, not counted. If you take all the times together, a football match usually lasts 105 to 110 minutes with 90 minutes of play.

But the game is rarely over after 90 minutes of play. Depending on the interruptions during the game, stoppage time is added. The game is only over when the referee blows his whistle. For example, if you want to watch a game live in the stadium, you should take into account the arrival and departure times as well as the stoppage time.

In the next section we will explain how stoppage time is calculated. Theoretically, this also has an influence on how long the second half of football lasts. After the first half, it is also possible to replay, but this is usually not a decisive factor, since the first half is often blown early.

What is the length of stoppage time?

The stoppage time is intended as compensation for the interruptions during the season. These can be a lot of events in football and the length of stoppage time regularly causes discussions in close matches. After all, narrow wins are among the most common football results. Therefore, the stoppage time for the previous team cannot be long enough.

In order to calculate the stoppage time, the referee includes all interruptions of the game. This includes, in particular, substitutions, player treatments, time-lapses, and disciplinary measures. In addition, since the video proof, the time that the referee needs to evaluate the videos has also been added.

As a result, most games have 1-5 minutes stoppage time. But, of course, it can also take longer if the game has been interrupted often and for a long time. The longest stoppage time in the UK was in the district league between clubs from Bottrop and Wesel, who had to play a total of 102 minutes following an injury to Hammers defender Dan Potts.

World Cup & European Championship Half Time Duration and Extension

The half-time lasts just as long at the Football World Cup & European Championships as it does at the usual league games. So that's also 45 minutes each, with a break of 15 minutes in between. Then the stoppage time is added before the referee then whistles the game. However, this only applies to group games.

In the knockout phase, extra time can be added. If the game is still a tie at the end of the game and stoppage time, the game goes into stoppage with two more halves of 15 minutes each without a break. So, the teams have another 30 minutes (plus any short injury time) to score goals and win.

If the extra time of 2x15 minutes ends goalless, the penalty shoot-out will follow at the World Cup & European Championships. The shooters of the teams take turns to score more goals from the penalty spot. That's at least five shooters, but if no winner is determined after the first 5, more shooters are added until one team has one more goal than the other.

Due to these special rules, the World Cup & European Championships matches in the final round can last several hours. The same applies to other tournaments such as the champions league, Europa League, or cup competitions. That's why it's always important to have some patience in the knockout rounds.

Conclusion: The half-time in football lasts until the referee whistles

Normally, the half-time of football for adults lasts a long 45 minutes. But it is much more important to pay attention to the referee. Because only when he whistles the half-time or the game is over.

//news/2022/05/30/7-tips-and-tricks-for-football-betting Wed, 13 Jul 2022 09:01:02 +0200 <![CDATA[7 Tips and Tricks for Football Betting]]> You can do football betting as a pastime in which your personal gut feeling is put to the test. But on the other hand, you can apply systems and techniques to maximise your success rate. Here in this blog, we've listed some useful tips for football betting to increase your success rate.

The most important things about football betting :

 • Single and combination bets reduce the risk of errors
 • Double chances increase your probability of winning
 • Beginners love victory bets
 • Patient choice of long-term bets

A wide range of football bets

Especially for beginners, it isn't easy to gain an overview here. There are a lot of bets on countless details of a football match. You can place some bets before the game, and others can be placed live during the game

In addition, there are many technical terms.

The single bet

This bet accounts for a large part of sports betting. It's simple: you bet on whether team A or B wins the match.

The result bet

Here you also bet on the result. But, in contrast to the single bet, you bet on the exact final result, such as Liverpool - Manchester United.

The Combi Bet

Here, the use is divided into at least two results. All results must be typed correctly for the bet to be won.

The Double Chance Bet

In football, three results are possible: home win, away win or draw. The double chance bet contains the following options:

 • Home win and draw
 • Away win and draw
 • Home win and away win

It allows the weather to cover two out of three possible outcomes with one bet.

The long-term bet

Here you bet on a result that will occur in the distant future. For example, the tip on the German champion, the World Cup winner, or similar events.

How is the football betting profit calculated?

This is quite simple: The bet x the odds = the bet profit, more precisely, the gross profit.

7 Football Betting Tips and Tricks to Win Money

Even successful sports betting initially costs money. You should consider before starting betting how much money you can invest in betting. You should not bet with money that you still need to live. It takes time to develop from beginner to professional weather.

Betting with money you have saved for something important in your life increases the pressure. This negatively affects the results. A bet should not be more than two to five per cent of the bankroll. This is the most important football betting tips.

This marks the start of responsible betting. Here are more tips for successful performance in sports betting.

1. Don't get greedy

There is beginner luck. Don't start betting more because things are going well right now. Luck can turn anytime, and luck is always part of betting.

2. Do not play mathematical systems

Football betting tips say that if you have lost, you double the next bet. This system tempts you to take more risks when betting or even to bet with anger in your stomach – this is not a good idea. Every bet should be based on analysing the strengths and weaknesses of the participating teams.

3. Sports betting tips and tricks: gather knowledge

When betting, bookmakers and customers fight with each other. The advantage lies with the bookie because it has the profit margin and the odds. The bettor compensates for this with his expertise. He only bets on teams he knows well.

Whether all the important players are fit, how the team performs at home and away, and whether it appears differently in important games.

They also consider whether an important game is coming up, and perhaps the top players could be spared in the current game. The better the knowledge, the higher the chance of winning. Especially in the lower leagues, the chance of winning increases with knowledge.

4. No favourite bets!

Especially beginners tend to try their hand at favourite bets, which pleases the providers because they earn good money with it. Favourite bets are bets on games with teams such as Liverpool - Manchester United.

At first glance, it looks good because Bayern wins almost every game. But right here is the catch because the rate is correspondingly low. For example, with odds of 1.2, you win €2.00 with a bet of 10 euros.

Well, you could say that small cattle also make crap, but let's take a look at the following calculation:

Let's assume a stake of 10, - € and a quota of 1.2.

Then there is a net profit of 2, - Euro per bet.

Now things are going well, and Bayern is winning 14 games in a row. This increases the net profit to 28, - €.

Unfortunately, Bayern has lost their last three games. Thus, the bet of 30, - € is gone.

Thus, the net profit is eaten up, and if no other bets have been placed, the net profit has turned into 2, - € loss.

5. What do the football betting tips and tricks say about live bets?

Live betting is fun, but it's not for professional betting. This is because, for example, the odds on live bets are worse. In addition, you have to make decisions quickly, often within seconds. These quick decisions invite mistakes.

6. Take a close look at the betting odds

A good tip from the field of football betting tips and tricks is to compare the betting odds. At first glance, you might think: Why should I make such an effort because of a difference of 0.05? This calculation shows the answer.

Bets are placed 100 times, and for the sake of simplicity, we assume 100 wins.

10,- € x 2,1 = 21,- € x 100 = 2.100,- €.

10,- € x 2,15 = 21,50 € x 100 = 2.150,- €

The effort, in this case, would have brought 50, - € more profit.

7. Not too many games on the face

Combo bets are seductive, and they have higher winning odds. But since you have to have everything right for a win, the combination bet is associated with a high risk.

Conclusion: Football Betting Tips and Tricks [summarised]

There are many good football betting tips and tricks. But, never forget that a little luck is always part of it. So, never let a loss throw you off track.

Beginners should first deal with the many possibilities of betting. Then someone who wants to make money with football betting should be well-versed in at least one club. Next, the club should be analysed in detail. How do they play at home games, at away games, and at important games? How do they behave in games that are before important games?

Knowledge is the key to winning a bet. This is the right place for you if you prefer to participate in an exciting gaming game instead of betting.

//news/2022/08/22/football-strength-training-important-questions-answered Fri, 15 Jul 2022 08:00:04 +0200 <![CDATA[Football Strength Training: Important Questions Answered!]]> Football Strength Training: Important Questions Answered!

football strength training, strength training, football, football training

Football is not only a sport that requires a lot of skills and endurance, but you can also benefit from a lot of strength. World-class football players like Cristiano Ronaldo are known for investing much time in strength training.

In the following article, we will discuss how important strength is in football and how to train it efficiently. After all, strength training is part of everyday life, even for the team, to be able to convince on the playing field through physicality.

Should football players do strength training?

This question can be answered with a very simple "yes." You can assert yourself better in the game if you have more power. In addition, you can specifically train muscles that may otherwise hardly be used and thus reduce the risk of injuries. This is because you often injure yourself with a sudden load on a little trained muscle.

All this helps to improve your own game. You become more self-confident in your appearance and are not afraid to go into a robust duel. If you train the strength of certain body parts in a targeted manner, you can run faster, jump higher or shoot more firmly. The little Brazilian on the outside track, Roberto Carlos, was notorious for his bombastic shooting power. No wonder you take a quick look at the toned muscles of his legs.

That's why every football playershould strengthen his body with strength training. The advantages are visible to everyone, and increasing one's strength is simply part of modern football. Professionals spend a lot of time in the weight room every week, but not to build as much muscle mass as possible. Instead, they want to optimize their muscle for football, concerning maximum and rapid strength and endurance.

Which muscles are important for football?

Football is a sport that takes a toll on the whole body. However, some muscles play a particularly important role because they are used more often than others. Of course, this includes the leg muscles, the upper and lower legs and calves, and the knee tendon. Equally important are the back and abdomen because they stabilize the body. First, however, one should train their important body muscles in three types of strength:

Maximum force - How much weight can I move.

It describes the ability to apply as much force as possible against resistance. With the squat, that would be how much weight you can move. If you manage to load it with 100 kg instead of 50 kg, then you have a higher maximum force.

Speed - How fast can I move the weight

Just as important as moving a lot of weight is how fast you can move it. So, it is advantageous for football players to do ten squats in 30 seconds instead of 60 seconds. Transferred to the pitch, you benefit from the speed, for example, in fast sprints.

Strength endurance - How often or how long can I move the weight

The last form of strength is endurance, with which you can strain the muscle over some time. This can be counted by duration or by the number of repetitions. In our squats example, this would be how many of them you manage before the muscle tires.

Summary: All three types of power are important

For football players, the focus is not on how much weight they can move once at most. Instead, a balance of maximum and fast force is much more important, supported by good strength and endurance.

It is much better to do the squat with 50 kg 10 times in a quick 30 seconds than to make after a 100 kg squat already weak. After all, half-time in football lasts 45 minutes before you get a break.

How should you train as a football player in the gym?

There are some exercises for important muscles that work out particularly well in the gym. Here are some of them that can be used to optimize the whole body for football. If you have suitable equipment at home, then, of course, you can also train there.

Legs - Strength training for football players

The most classic of all exercises is the squat, where you train almost the entire leg muscles. However, the focus is on the thigh, which does most of the work. If the simple squat is too light, you can make the exercise more difficult with the help of a barbell on the shoulders. By balancing the extra weight, you also train the whole trunk.

Other great exercises are power jumps, in which you train the height and speed of your jumps. Also, try a Romanian deadlift to target the back of your thighs (hamstrings).

Back - Strength training for football players

To strengthen the back, all forms of pull-ups are available, whether without or with the help of a machine. You train the upper back, supported by the biceps.

As a football player , you don't need further practice for the biceps because it is already being trained. Likewise, the lower back can be trained with the conventional deadlift, which is also good for the shape and the trunk.

Belly - Strength training for football players

You can train your stomach with the help of sit-ups and planks. Sit-ups are much more focused only on the abdominal muscles, while planks train the core stability as a whole, including the abdomen. However, the exercises must not be too simple. If you manage 50 sit-ups or can hold a plank for 5 minutes, you should use extra weight as resistance.

Upper body - Strength training for football players

Your chest is best trained with the classic bench press. You also train the triceps at the same time. So, you don't need another exercise anymore. In addition, you can train your shoulders by incorporating the so-called Overhead/Military Press into the training. In German, these are often summarized as shoulder presses.

How do you combine football and weight training?

For professionals, strength training is built into the everyday training plan. So, they train in addition to football training, as Cristiano Ronaldo mentioned at the beginning, who sometimes still hangs on for several hours a day.

On the other hand, it is better for amateurs to incorporate strength training on non-training days. You probably don't have the time to do it after football training. As an amateur, you may not even have the stamina to put it on the back after training.

Conclusion: Strength training is important for every football player

Whether professional or amateur, every football player can benefit from strength training. It helps to make your own game better and protects against injuries. That's why a few hours a week of strength training should be on every training plan.

After the training, you can register for our World Cup prediction game and have fun with your colleagues.

//news/2022/08/08/what-does-it-take-to-become-a-professional-football-player Fri, 15 Jul 2022 08:02:07 +0200 <![CDATA[What Does it Take to Become a Professional Football Player?]]> What Does it Take to Become a Professional Football Player?

Football player, guide for football player, how to become a football player

A dream of many young players in Germany is to become a professional football player. Especially in this day and age, when we are closer to professionals than ever before, thanks to social media, many dreams of the extravagant life of a professional football player.

To become a professional, you need talent, commitment, and perseverance. Even world stars like Messi or Ronaldo had to train hard for years until they could celebrate their breakthrough in the end.

You have to start early to become a football player.

You don't become a professional from one day to the next. It takes not only talent but also a lot of time to master the game completely. World stars in football are famous for training particularly long and hard. At the earliest age, they began to work on their abilities practically every day.

That's why the earlier you join a club, the more you can learn about the game. Children learn particularly quickly and should make the best use of their young years to learn how to compete in the game. In addition, it is much easier to learn as a child to master the ball safely and thus form a good basis for advanced techniques.

Becoming a professional football player means: Long and hard training

No one makes it to the professional without enough training. Many today's professionals, especially from Latin America, underwent training daily as children. Football was practically lived every day in the club or on the street.

However, this is sometimes also due to the immense pressure in these countries because the competition is so great. According to a recent study from Brazil, becoming a professional football player is the only way out of poverty for many. In Germany, children are often less forced to exercise for several hours daily. But in the best case, you will also find the time to kick a little every day.

If there is no training or game with the club, you can, for example, simply hold up the ball in the garden for a few minutes. Or you kick a round with your friends just for fun. Strength training for football players is also part of modern training programs today.

Often test yourself in competition or real games.

Training may be important, but competing is at least as important. After all, how often do you hear about the all-important game practice in football? This cannot be replaced by training because, after all, you never train in an environment that is as serious as in the game. Even training games cannot achieve the 'serious' character of a regular game.

Of course, club games are particularly suitable for this, no matter which league you play. So, you should try to play as many games as possible. If you don't make it into the first selection, you can wait for your chance or even switch to a supposedly weaker club. Many young players could gain game practice in this way before becoming professionals.

To become a professional football player, you need a healthy lifestyle

Another important factor that can significantly influence the growth into a professional is lifestyle and diet. Even children and teenagers should take care of their fitness and health.

If you come back after the summer holidays 5 kg overweight, the coach may lose confidence in you. In addition, rapid weight gain decreases strain on the body, especially in children.

That's why you should make sure to keep yourself healthy at all times. This is important for physical and playful development. Teenagers should also be careful not to let themselves go too much at parties. Alcohol not only hurts your body but can also negatively affect your upcoming workout or game.

Learn and understand football thanks to video analytics

While training, games, and a healthy lifestyle optimize your body for football, you can continue your education without practice. Of course, you can fall back on the old book in a classic way. But today, video analyses are much more suitable. This is because you can also see exactly how you want to play.

Meanwhile, an endless amount of content can be easily found on popular video platforms. In addition, some expert analysts used to be known only from television. As a result, you can learn tactics and moves, which can then be transferred to your game. To become a professional, you should learn as much as possible from the professionals about football.

When will it be decided whether it will be enough to become a football player?

If you follow all our advice and get into the so-called 'golden age,' you often decide whether it is enough to become a professional. Between the ages of 15 and 18, you must make many important decisions, including whether you want to pursue your career as a football player. Unfortunately, most people stop playing football here due to school and education.

However, if you play at a good club and the coach recognizes your potential, you should continue to play. If you show the passionate commitment, will, and professionalism needed in the end, the leap into the professional league, can certainly succeed!

What is the chance of becoming a professional football player?

Football is popular in Germany, and the competition is fierce, although not as big as in Brazil or Argentina. That's why only a very small part of all players can make it into the professional leagues. Meanwhile, even the third league belongs to it because you can earn very good money, which was not necessarily the case a few years ago.

However, if you take all three leagues together, in the end, there are only 56 clubs, which on average take in about two young professionals per year, i.e., 112 new professionals. On the other hand, every year, there are around 500,000 young active players in the 'golden age' between 15 and 18 years who hope for a jump into the higher leagues. That's why you need a little luck, in the end, to be discovered by the right club.

Conclusion: What do you need to become a professional football player?

To become a professional football player, you must start early, train long and hard, play a lot, and live football properly. If a little luck is added, you may be able to be discovered and specifically promoted. In the end, you leap into the professional league!

However, you don't have to become a professional football player to participate in our World Cup prediction game. Anyone can sign up quickly, easily, and for free. This is as much fun as kicking with friends on the lawn.

//news/2022/10/31/fifa-world-cup-in-qatar-2022-will-have-6-referees Tue, 19 Jul 2022 11:36:56 +0200 <![CDATA[FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022 Will Have 6 Referees for the First Time]]> The French Stephanie Frappart, the Rwandan Salima Mukasanga and the Japanese Yoshimi Yamashita , along with the Brazilian assistants ** Neuza Back, Mexican Karen Díaz Medina and the American Kathryn Nesbitt, will make history in Qatar 2022,** as it will be the first time that there are referees in a men's World Cup, according to the list of referees announced by FIFA.

Frappart, 38 years old and international since 2011, is the most reputable and recognized collegiate**. After managing the biggest women's tournaments, including the World Cup finals, in 2019, she became the first woman in charge of refereeing the final of the men's Super Cup (Liverpool-Chelsea)**. In 2020, she was the first to manage a Champions League match.

She was also the first female referee in a men's Euro match when she was appointed as an assistant to Dutchman Danny Makkelie in the Turkey-Italy tournament opener.

**Mukasanga was the first woman to manage an Africa Cup match this year (Zimbabwe-Guinea) **after being the fourth referee for the Guinea-Malawi match, and Yamashita managed the Melbourne City-Jeonnam Dragons match of the Asian Champions League in April.

" We are pleased to be able to count for the first time in the history of the World Cup with referees Stéphanie Frappart (France), Salima Mukansanga (Rwanda) and Yoshimi Yamashita (Japan), along with attendees Neuza Back (Brazil), Karen Díaz Medina (Mexico) and Kathryn Nesbitt (United States). These appointments culminate a long process that began several years ago with the appointment of female referees in FIFA's youth and senior men's tournaments," said Italian Pierluigi Collina, Chairman of the FIFA Referees Commission.

"In this sense, we will not tire of repeating that the important thing is quality and not gender," warned the former collegiate, who pointed out that he hopes that "in the future, the fact that there are elite referees in large male competitions will be understood as something normal and stop being news."

" **They deserve to be in the World Cup of the ** FIFA ** ** because their performance is consistently excellent, and that's the determining factor for us," Collina said.

MATEU, THE ONLY SPANIARD

In total, the FIFA Referees Commission appointed 36 referees, 69 assistants, and 24 members of the video referee team.

**"As always, we have put quality before everything else, and the chosen referees have the highest level in the world," ** said Collina, president of the FIFA Referees Commission, who added that Russia "was very successful, among other things, for the excellence of refereeing" and that they will give "everything because it is even better in Qatar."

Among the main ones is the presence of three women and a single representative of the RFEF, the Valencian Antonio Mateu Lahoz, who will be assisted in the bands by Roberto Díaz and Pau Cebrián.

According to FIFA, the **'Heading to Qatar 2022' project ** began in 2019. They analyzed more than fifty referee trios as possible candidates subjected to intense preparation.

"The pandemic affected our activities, especially in 2020 and early 2021. Luckily, the World Cup was still a long way off, and we had enough time to prepare the candidates. We have announced the names so far in advance because we want to work even more with the referees appointed to the FIFA World Cup and follow them up in the coming months. The message is clear: do not rest on your laurels; keep striving and prepare very rigorously for the World Cup ," said Collina.

Swiss Massimo Busacca, director of FIFA's Refereeing Branch, said: "Thanks to an innovative monitoring and support programme, FIFA referee instructors can monitor all referees even more closely and with greater intensity than before."

"It is a very important factor with which we hope to see considerable improvements and progress ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In addition, there will be tailor-made programmes, particularly in terms of health and fitness. Each referee will be monitored in the coming months, and a final evaluation of the technical, physical and medical aspects will be made shortly before the tournament so that they are in the best conditions at the beginning of the World Cup," he said.

The **selected referees will participate in June and July in several seminars ** (Asunción, Madrid and Doha), in which videos of real match situations will be reviewed and analyzed, and they will participate in practical training sessions with a football player, which will be recorded so that participants receive immediate feedback from the instructors.

"The preparation is still standing or focused on protecting the players and the image of football, on providing it with coherence and homogeneity, on reading the game from the technical and tactical point of view and understanding the diversity of mentalities between players and teams. We cannot avoid all mistakes, but we will do our best to limit them to a minimum," he said.

//news/2022/10/17/qatar-2022-world-cup-aims-to-be-the-safest Tue, 19 Jul 2022 11:38:44 +0200 <![CDATA[Qatar 2022 World Cup aims to be the safest to date.]]> Less than six months before the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar started at Al Bayt Stadium , the Security Operations Committee (SSOC) of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) hosted the **Security Last-Mile Conference ** in Doha, Qatar. The event, which has attracted international participation, aims to highlight Qatar's readiness to host a safe tournament and promote greater cooperation between law enforcement in Qatar and worldwide.

More than 40 delegations representing the qualified countries participated in the opening day on Sunday, as well as representatives of the United Nations, FIFA , the SC , the Ministry of Defence , the Ministry of the Interior , the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), the ** FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 LLC** , Interpol and Europol , as well as representatives of other interested parties. The conference covered topics such as tournament overview, security risk assessment, security planning, security procedures at tournament facilities, cybersecurity requirements, and communication and cooperation with international partners.

In his opening remarks, Mr Abdulaziz Al Ansari , President of the SSOC, stated that the conference was the culmination of extensive coordination efforts between different parties that saw the exchange of resources and experience between different countries and law enforcement agencies. He added that the conference offers participants the opportunity to review security achievements and reaffirm the commitment made by the tournament organisers to celebrate the safest edition of the FIFA World Cup to date.

Eng. Al Ansari added: "The State of Qatar is ready to host the biggest sporting event in the world. Our country enjoys the highest levels of security, reinforced by a world-class police service. Qatar ranks first in all global security indicators, including an exceptionally low crime rate. Our ability to host large-scale safe events was recently demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic, where we were able to successfully manage a number of health and safety measures simultaneously."

"Qatar ranks first in all global security indicators, including an exceptionally low crime rate."

"Our security capabilities were also exemplarily demonstrated when Qatar hosted the FIFA Arab Cup in 2021. During the tournament, we demonstrated our preparedness in terms of security, logistics and organisation, testing our capabilities to organise a safe World Cup," added Al Ansari.

Al Ansari also said this week's conference is an important milestone as it represents the prelude to the FIFA™ World Cup, which will be held from November 21 to December 18.

"A few months before the tournament, we felt it necessary to organise a conference that would bring together security experts from the sports industry and the participating countries to discuss and agree on practical plans for the event," added engineer Al Ansari.

He also stated that the conference would witness the signing of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Joint Declaration on the exchange of information between Qatar, as the host country, participating and non-participating countries, and relevant international organisations. It will also witness the activation of the Centre for International Police Cooperation (CICC), which coordinates procedures and the exchange of information between representatives of international law enforcement agencies of classified countries, representatives of international organisations and countries participating as observers to improve security during the tournament.

Simulation exercises

Qatar's readiness to host the FIFA™ World Cup was also demonstrated during the "Watan" simulation exercise, in which Qatar's civil, military, and security authorities conducted a series of fictional exercises and training programs in engagement with regional and international countries, according to Eng. Al Ansari. It also renewed the State of Qatar's welcome to all and its willingness to cooperate with all parties.

Also participating in the opening ceremony was Helmut Spahn, FIFA's Director of Security , who stressed that the level of integration and collaboration that has been achieved with the FIFA Security Operations Commission for Qatar 2022 guarantees that the tournament will be held to the highest security standards. Furthermore, Spahn added that the State of Qatar had spared no effort in creating broad international cooperation, something FIFA has supported from the start.

He also noted that FIFA's human rights requirements had been integrated into all SSOC working mechanisms as part of a comprehensive working relationship with FIFA's security team. Spahn also reiterated that the main partners had adopted the plans laid out among the tournament organisers.

Spahn confirmed that participation in this conference, less than 200 days before the start of the tournament, confirms the importance of coordination and cooperation between international law enforcement agencies. He also noted that each host country faces its own security issues, as seen in recent tournaments in Germany, South Africa, Brazil and Russia.

The signing of the joint declaration

On the first day of the conference, the joint declaration on the IPCC between the State of Qatar and several relevant countries and organisations participating in the conference was also signed to exchange information.

Mr Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Ansari, Chairman of SSOC, Brigadier Ibrahim Khalil Al Mohannadi, Head of the Legal Affairs and Communication Unit, and Colonel Khalid Ali Al Kaabi, Deputy Head of the Legal Affairs and Communication Unit, signed on behalf of Qatar.

//news/2022/09/05/team-building-in-football-this-is-how-teams-are-formed Tue, 19 Jul 2022 11:42:21 +0200 <![CDATA[Team building in football: This is how teams are formed!]]> Team building in football is a good method for preparing for the season and creates the foundations of cohesion. Team building, as well as the training of standard situations, is considered one of the most important foundations of team sports.

Team building in football is a development process that stretches over the entire season and should be promoted. Even most coaches consider the shaping of the team to be the most important basis for getting through the season with a high level of motivation and success.

For a long time, even the team with the best players will not be successful if the chemistry of the individual comrades does not match each other.

Maximum motivation only works with the right team.

Each team goes through four phases on the way to the right development. This can also be compared to athletic psychology. The first stage of development is getting to know each other. Here, the individual players get to know each other and develop relationships. The climate comes first. The players look for their individual place in the team and orient themselves.

The second stage is perhaps the most important and should be well observed and controlled by the trainers. It's about confrontation. Positions of power and leadership claims are established, and there is a great deal of resistance between the players. In addition, the tasks are distributed. Performance plays a role here.

In the third stage, there is order again, and everything calms down slowly again, as each player has found the right place and the tasks and tolerates them. The peculiarities of the other players are also accepted. The performance increases again.

Optimizing team building is then the last phase. Common goals and values are defined and developed. All the energy is used to accomplish these tasks. It is important to stick to these conditions and not only to maintain them but also to improve them.

Practice is more important than theory.

Of course, the individual phases differ from team to team and are not always the same. The length of stay of the teams is also different at different levels. The confrontation stage, i.e. the second phase, is dangerous for team building in football.

For many teams, the problem is that this phase is maintained for too long or even forever. There are constant groups and power struggles. Often individual players do not get along with each other, or the leadership role is not accepted. In rare cases, there is also a rebellion against the coaches, and the "team" is on the verge of extinction. In addition, it often happens that the teams that have successfully mastered the confrontation phase often fall back into it.

One of the most common reasons for this fact is that there has been too little communication between players. Failures, leadership weakness or interpersonal problems are also often indicators that a relapse can occur. For this reason, one should not neglect team-building measures in football.

This applies not only to certain seasons but to the entire year. The team grows together in the preparation, and the goal is that everyone has found the right place for themselves at the end of the preparation and agrees to it. This is the only way to achieve good cohesion, which is constantly being optimized.

Explain team-building measures to everyone

The development of the common game philosophy is a very important component of team building, as well as the definition of common values and goals and a clear distribution of roles and tasks in your own team. But what is the game philosophy all about? The basis for a motivating and successful game is philosophy. This is first of all specified by the coach, with the further help of the leading players. When developing, one should pay attention to the differences between children's and adult football.

While seniors are all about the right tactics, children's football often involves parents. The coach must, therefore, clearly explain the intentions communicated by the parents before the start of the season. First and foremost, it is about learning objectives and game parts, which the coach clearly represents, so that there are no misunderstandings during the game.

The content is, therefore, very different from children's football and the slightly older vintages. Without the defined goals - just like in your own life - you will not be able to achieve moments of success in football in the long term. Therefore, the common goal is the strongest building block of team building.

Promoting team spirit: ideas for team building

The goals must be set by the team itself so that they can be internalized. The trainer is not really in demand. The goals should be set high but also not too utopian. Here, it is very important to take on smaller goals, which can be ticked off gradually. A fixed period of time is also important so that the team knows exactly that they have to start pursuing the goals now in order to achieve them.

The milestones should be set up in such a way that they are controllable and measurable. For example, a goal could be: "We want to score at least 10 points from the five games". As a result, every player is motivated and knows exactly what goal the entire team wants to achieve.

The coach usually announces the performances in preparation for the season. Here he expresses wishes about the behaviour and attitude of the players. The standards are often recorded in the so-called catalogue of penalties. However, it is, of course, always better if the norms are recorded together with the individual players. This ensures that every player can cope with these rules and strives for them.

Another measure of optimal team building in football is the distribution of tasks in the team. This applies not only to organizational tasks, such as organizing a hall but also to the tactical tasks in the game itself. Open communication plays an important role in this. The players should jointly disclose their strengths and also exchange with each other who is best suited for which position or who shoots the penalties. This also includes naming the captain.

Conclusion: Team building in football

Team building is enormously important and an essential element in professional football – but also in amateur sports. If you have seen through the team building of a team, you may also have an advantage in the prediction game. Feel free to take a look at our rules or register here with just a few clicks.

//news/2022/10/03/teambuilding-games-in-the-office Tue, 19 Jul 2022 11:43:43 +0200 <![CDATA[Teambuilding games in the office]]> Team building games in the office are a great way to increase the sense of togetherness. They help to get in touch with colleagues and to loosen the mood. You get to know everyone in the team better, leading to better communication and collaboration.

But team building can also quickly be seen as annoying if you don't manage to avoid the usual mistakes. We will show you how to organize your team building correctly so that everyone has fun doing it.

The advantages of team-building games in the office

Are team-building games even necessary? This is a question that many are certainly asking. But you should not underestimate the effect of good team building. Especially games are suitable for welding the employees together as a team. They can be fun and loosen up the office's otherwise often stressful everyday life.

Depending on the game, there are also special advantages. Some games are better for meeting new colleagues. Other games, on the other hand, help to strengthen communication in the team. All this also helps improve the office atmosphere in the long term. Because the better the colleagues know each other, the more likely they are to help each other in everyday life at work.

Even if you only have a small team that already knows each other very well, team building can further strengthen the bond. Then you can choose specific games that are not aimed at getting to know each other for the first time but, for example, at mastering major challenges together. Here you have all the options to customize the team-building games specifically for your office.

What rules are there to observe?

As already pointed out at the beginning, you should avoid common mistakes. Otherwise, for fun, frustration can quickly arise, and colleagues turn away from the game. To prevent this from happening, we have compiled the important rules of team building for you. Take note of our tips for an exciting game:

Prepare each game well so that there are no long waiting times. Then you also look well prepared as an organizer. If it happens that a colleague does not want to play, then do not force him to do so. Always stay positive and keep your fun in the game. Then the colleague may come to it all by himself later.

Also, make sure there are no laughs at the expense of others. Even the most sociable colleagues in the team do not want to look stupid in front of an assembled group. If you notice that the game is slowly falling asleep, then do not hesitate to finish it quickly. In the end, you can collect feedback on the game and talk about it as a team.

Which team-building games are suitable for the office?

Not all team-building games are equally suitable for the office. That's why we give you some examples as inspiration, but on the Internet, you will find countless more. In this day and age, we would like to take special care to show you team-building games with distance and without material so that your game does not contribute to the spread of viruses.

Do you want to break the ice and get to know your colleagues? Then try the game "Two Truths and a Lie". Everyone comes up with two facts and a lie about themselves and presents them to the team. The group then votes on what is true and what is false. The more unusual the statements, the more fun the game is.

Or do you want to solve a real/fictitious problem? Then the game "Your first thought" may be just right for your team. Here, the colleagues should solve a problem with the help of the first idea that comes to mind, no matter how absurd it seems. The aim is to find solutions that are not unnecessarily complicated. Because in everyday life, we often think too much and overlook the obviously easy way.

Still in the home office? Then start a football prediction game

Team building games work not only in the office but also from the home office. A good example of this is a football prediction game. After all, the next World Cup in Qatar is just around the corner. This is a very good opportunity to dedicate the upcoming team building to football.

With the football prediction game, you encourage your team to communicate with each other. Are there any experts in your office that others want to trust? Or maybe you even think that the 'underdog' wins the race and gives the right tips? Whatever the outcomes, what is certain is that betting games will bring fun and energy to teams. There will be a lot to talk about, both football and the prediction game.

Team building is followed by feedback and reflection

Finally, you should measure how successful the team building was. As an attentive leader, you often recognize during the game what challenges exist in the team. Has the mutual trust of your colleagues increased noticeably, and has communication improved? These findings can then often be transferred to everyday working life.

Also, reflect on all the games again. It's not about praise and blame but about behavioural patterns and weaknesses within the team that you were able to identify. Then, youu can build on this and set the course for change. After all, you don't play the games for an end in themselves.

Team building games for adults are a good building block for developing and strengthening team spirit. And the ultimate goal of this is to increase efficiency in everyday office life. The better the team knows each other, the better most of them work together.

Conclusion: Team-building games in the office bring movement & energy

Properly organized team-building games in the office is a lot of fun and help the team to get to know each other better. This can be both the first acquaintance but also the strengthening of already good relationships.

Due to the still tense situation in terms of Corona, however, we recommend games that can be played with distance and without material. This minimizes a possible outbreak in your office.

That's why a football prediction game is particularly suitable because it can even be played from the home office.

//news/2022/09/19/world-cup-predictions-for-football-world-cup-2022 Tue, 19 Jul 2022 11:45:08 +0200 <![CDATA[World Cup Predictions for Football World Cup 2022]]> Only a few will say that the 2020s have so far turned out to be a particularly relaxed decade. Pandemics and global conflicts are currently causing problems for many people around the world, and the bright spots seem to be sown less and less. With all this tribulation, it is, therefore, welcome news that a football World Cup is finally coming up again.

Soon it will be time again for what is probably the most important football tournament in the world, and many fans are already in a state of turmoil. The World Cup in Qatar opens a whole new chapter in football history, as it will take place in winter instead of the hot summer months. Football fans who are looking forward to an otherwise rather gloomy winter of 2022 can at least look forward to this bonus.

A World Cup employment for all

With the upcoming World Cup, there is, of course, also a whole chain of fun games and activities that revolve around this major sporting event. To stand on the field for a national team is probably only granted to a few, but that does not mean that you cannot still participate in the championship with a lot of fun. One of the most popular ways to do this is, without question, the so-called typing or typing games.

Roughly speaking, a World Cup prediction game is about predicting the results of the games as accurately as possible. Whoever makes the most accurate prediction about the final results wins. You can participate as an individual, as a group, or as a large team and thus compete in a variety of constellations for your own small victory at the World Cup.

World Cup prediction game - this is how it works.

If you want to participate in the prediction game of Tournamentfootball.co.uk, you should, of course, first, familiarize yourself as well as possible with the rules of the game and create your own user account. An account is created quickly, and those who log in to the site also have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the rules of the game in detail. After industry-standard consent of the terms and conditions, it can already start.

However, all interested players should already remember that the deadline for all tips for the World Cup prediction game 2022 is on 21 November. Of course, only those who have entered all the tips before the official start of the tournament can make successful bets.

What is being typed on?

With Tournamentfootball.co.uk, as with most betting games, it is first about the results of all games. At the 2022 World Cup, there will be a whopping 64 different games. Tipsters should therefore take enough time to make a good forecast for each of these individual games. Only the final result after 90 minutes of play is significant. Extra time or penalty times are not counted.

After you have typed the results of the individual games as an individual or group, it goes to the knockout rounds. The winners of the individual groups are selected, which divides the World Cup teams at the beginning of the tournament. It is important to select only one team. Otherwise, the result will be invalid.

Who can participate?

Tournamentfootball.co.uk's Football World Cup prediction game is for everyone. In contrast to games from the gambling industry, there is no betting for money here. There are several ways to participate in a game. If you want to participate as an individual, simply create an account and start selecting the first favourites. If you want to participate in an existing betting group to type as part of a team, you can also do so after you have created your own account.

In addition, you have the option of creating your own betting group if there is none in your environment yet. Especially for circles of friends or offices, it can often be really fun to get together or compete against each other in small groups for victory. Through Tournamentfootball.co.uk, you can directly use Facebook, WhatsApp and services to build your group.

How does the point distribution work when typing?

The points system for the World Cup prediction game works quite simply: The more accurate the prediction about a game outcome, the higher the score. Conversely, tippers will be punished for every goal they have not predicted. Even a single goal too much can cost almost a third of the points, so players should take enough time to make the most accurate prediction possible about each game.

The maximum score that players can achieve when typing for a single game is 30. In addition, it is possible to tap on the result of an entire group when Tournamentfootball.co.uk. Anyone who has ever watched a World Cup will know that the individual teams of the tournament are divided into groups in which they compete against each other. The teams that emerge as winners of the respective groups will then compete against each other in the next phase of the tournament.

Bonus Questions

In addition to the pure game results, there are also a number of bonus questions that can be tapped. These are about the number of yellow and red cards awarded during a tournament. In addition, there is the possibility of betting on the total number of all goals scored. Depending on the card or goal, a certain number of points are deducted for each deviation.

How do you win in the prediction game?

The beauty of the World Cup prediction game is the fact that you are not rewarded for luck in this game but, above all, for knowledge. Those who are well acquainted with the respective strengths and weaknesses of the competing teams will be able to achieve significantly better results than the people who simply tap wildly on it.

Small X-factors, such as the weather or injuries in a team, can also be significant for the outcome of a game. You know, for example, that Brazil is superior, but that two important strikers may not be able to be at the World Cup? Then this may turn out to be important when the team meets France in the winter.

World Cup prediction games are for everyone.

In summary, it can only be said that World Cup prediction games are really for everyone. A bit of excitement and competition for the best tips can cause just as much excitement in the circle of friends as a little variety in everyday office life.

Watching the world's best players fight for the trophy in hot Qatar will undoubtedly be a welcome distraction for many from November onwards. An online World Cup prediction game can help to increase this excitement and prolong it a bit.

//news/2022/08/31/the-world-cup-schedule-of-2022 Wed, 24 Aug 2022 13:49:18 +0200 <![CDATA[The World Cup Schedule of 2022]]> The 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup will be hosted by Qatar for the first time. Normally the World Cup takes place during the summer months. But because temperatures in Qatar can reach 40 degrees in the summer, it has been decided to move the tournament once to the winter months. The opening match will take place on November 21, 2022, and the World Cup final on December 18, 2022.

The World Cup schedule in Qatar

A total of 32 countries will participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. During the World Cup in Qatar, these countries compete against each other in eight groups. There are four countries in each group. They're all competing for that much-loved gold cup and prize money of a staggering $42 million!

This year it is a shorter World Cup than we are used to. The World Cup schedule will last only 28 days this year. This will be the shortest tournament in the past 44 years. This promises to be a short but powerful tournament.

What we are used to is that the competitions take place in various cities. The World Cup in Qatar is also played in several cities. There are five this year, namely in Doha, Ar-Rayyan, Lusail, Al Wakrah and Al Khawr. They will take place in no fewer than eight stadiums.

The 2022 World Cup schedule

The 2022 World Cup schedule begins with a group stage. This is followed by the eighth-finals, quarterfinals, semi-finals, play-offs for third place and of course, the final. The schedule will look like this:

• Monday, November 21: the opening ceremony
• Monday, November 21 to Friday, December 2: the group stage
• Saturday, December 3 to December 6: the eighth-finals
• Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10: the quarterfinals
• Tuesday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 14: the semi-finals
• Saturday, December 17: the consolation final
• Sunday, December 18: per tradition, the exciting final will take place on a Sunday

Because the tournament is short and busy, the football World Cup schedule will consist of four games per day. In this way, the players always get enough rest and enough time to recover.

The World Cup schedule

Will the Netherlands finally become world champions after three places in the final? The whole country has support and hope.

The opening game on November 21 will immediately be played by group A consisting of Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands. The kick-off will be at 10:00 AM UK time. The second game will take place on November 25 at 4:00 PM, against Ecuador. On December 29 at 3:00 PM, the Orange Squad will play against Qatar. The last games of the day start at 7:00 PM.

The last two matches of each group will be kicked off at the same time on the same day. This makes it impossible to know the position of a competitor. After the winners of these matches are announced, the schedule of the eighth-finals will be announced.

Predict the winner!

Do you want to give the World Cup some extra excitement this year? Create a group in five minutes and compete against your friends or family.
